Greetings Delegates and Faculty Advisors,
A very warm welcome to Bosco MUN 2026.
Standing before you today as the Secretary General of Bosco MUN is a feeling I find incredibly difficult to put into words. Because for many of you, this may be the beginning of a conference. But for me, this moment is the culmination of a dream I have carried with me for years. I remember attending MUNs, walking into committee rooms, watching debates unfold, watching the Secretary Generals address hundreds of delegates, and somewhere along that journey, a younger version of me quietly dreamt of standing here one day.
Today, that dream stands before me.
And perhaps that is why Bosco MUN 2026 has never felt like just another event on the school calendar to me. It has been personal. Over the past few months, there have been long days, late nights, endless discussions, hundreds of messages, last minute changes, moments of excitement, moments of uncertainty, and moments when the responsibility of this conference felt overwhelming. But through every single one of those moments, there was one thought that kept me going - you, the delegates.
Because when you walk through the gates of Don Bosco School, Park Circus, I do not want you to feel like you have simply arrived at another MUN. I want you to feel at home. I want you to enter your committee rooms nervous and walk out confident. I want you to meet people today who, months and perhaps years from now, will still be a part of your lives. I want you to debate fiercely, disagree passionately, challenge your Executive Boards, fight for your foreign policies, and perhaps question your own perspectives.
But above everything else, I want you to be happy that you came here. Awards will be won. Gavels will be lifted. But when Bosco MUN 2026 comes to an end, I hope your greatest takeaway is not a certificate or a trophy. I hope it is a memory. A memory of a committee that made you fall in love with diplomacy. A memory of a delegate who began as your greatest opposition and somehow became your closest friend. A memory of laughter in the corridors, hurried lobbying during breaks, frantic chits, and those few unforgettable moments that no study guide or rules of procedure could ever prepare you for.
To every first time delegate sitting here today I know it can be intimidating. I know the person beside you may seem more experienced, more articulate, or more confident. But I ask you to raise your placard. Speak. Make mistakes. Learn. This conference belongs just as much to you as it does to the most experienced delegate in the room.
And to our experienced delegates push yourselves further. Do not merely debate to win. Debate to understand. Lead your committees, but also create space for others to find their voices. Bosco MUN has given me more than I could ever adequately express. It has given me confidence, friendships, experiences, and memories that have shaped the person standing before you today. And as Secretary General, all I have ever wanted is to give each of you the opportunity to experience even a fraction of what this institution has given me. I would be lying if I said this journey has been easy. But I would also be lying if I said I would change a single moment of it. Because today, looking at all of you, every meeting, every phone call, every sleepless night, and every ounce of effort feels worth it.
Bosco MUN 2026 is finally here.
My Secretariat and I have built this conference with immense love, dedication, and belief. From this moment onwards, however, it belongs to you. Fill these committee rooms with your voices. Fill these corridors with memories. Challenge yourselves. Surprise yourselves. And when you leave Don Bosco Park Circus, leave knowing that there will always be a small place here that you can call home.
As your Secretary General, I promise you that over these two days, my team and I will do everything in our capacity to give you the experience you deserve.
This was once my dream.
Today, it is my privilege.
Welcome home.
Welcome to Don Bosco School, Park Circus.
And welcome to Bosco MUN 2026.
Regards,
Rajveer Kumar Pruthi,
Secretary General,
The Eleventh Secretariat,
BOSCO MUN 2026.
