Agenda: Special Session on the Future of the Near East, Imperial Mandates, and Regional Sovereignty
Freeze Date: 6th September, 1925

About the Committee

Existing currently in 1925. The cannons of the Great War have now fallen silent as well as ignorant, yet the struggle for power has only begun. Across the Near East, the collapse of the Ottoman Empire has left behind disputed borders, imperial mandates, and nations demanding the right to govern themselves. What was promised as peace has become a contest for dominance, where diplomacy masks ambition and sovereignty is weighed against the interests of empires.

The League of Nations now convenes in a Special Session at a defining moment in history. This special session is the battlefield where words may redraw maps, determine the fate of millions, and shape the balance of power for decades to come. Delegates shall represent the world’s most influential statesmen, navigating a maze of secret negotiations, fragile alliances, colonial interests, and rising nationalism.

Within these chambers, every speech carries consequences. Every alliance invites suspicion. Every resolution may preserve peace or just easily sow the seeds of another global conflict. The future of imperial mandates, regional sovereignty, and the Near East now rests in the hands of those bold enough to defend their nation’s interests.

History will never remember the spectators. It will remember people those who had the guts and the boldness to change it.

Chairpersons' Address

Greetings delegates,

It is with immense pleasure, gratitude and heartfelt warmth that we extend a honorable welcome to each and every one of you to a committee, which can undoubtedly be recognized as one of the most chaotic, toughest and complex with an agenda such that, the more you dive in, the more facts you gain, in this edition of Bosco Model United Nations, League of Nations.

As we gather here in such a fruitful conference, it is with most urgency we address the crisis. The ghosts of empires are just standing outside these doors. The hopes of millions of people denied a homeland are standing just silently and eagerly waiting for our verdict and history itself lies silently at the backend of this committee, recording each and every moment captured.

Considering the critical timelines of this crisis, the freeze date for this committee is 6th September, 1925. Your position paper deadline is 11:59 pm on 26th July, 2026. The deadline for the pre-committee paperwork is 11:59 PM on the 31st of July, 2026.

The committee will be assisted by the Director, Avyaansh Baid and the Rapporteur, Saksham Singhi. Saksham is a 10th Grader with an undying interest in MUNs, global politics, and business (fests). As a Karan Aujla stan and an Economics student, it is safe to say that his hard work will resemble his idol’s in committee more than when he has to study for his Economics exam and he will undoubtedly be, one the best researched members of the Executive Board.

Avyaansh Baid, an eleventh grader will be serving as the Director of the Committee. Avyaansh may look calm from the outside, but if you get on his nerve, he is sure to make you regret that decision. Avyaansh by profession is an experienced bathroom singer, whose favourite activity is drinking tea and there isn't a single retro bollywood song whose lyrics is not known to him. Overall, Avyaansh is one of the most approachable members of the Executive Board and with him in the committee, it is bound to be entertaining.

Shadan Husham will be serving as the Co-Chairperson for League of Nations. Shadan is not your average twelfth grader, he may look innocent and harmless, but he's the very opposite of it regardless of his subtle deceiving nature Shadan is (probably) one of the most approachable members of the Executive Board. He consumes coffee in a way as if it were his birth right, skips his physics tuitions, manifests a 10 hour sleep session, is more of a nocturnal creature and the unpaid secret agent of the KGB who solely relies on as he calls it "unredacting" redacted information for the sake of "fun". Shadan is a blend of chaos and calamity brewed in a way that he can have a mexican standoff with his 3 alter egos.

Aryaveer Agarwal is the School Bosco House Captain and will be serving as the Co-Chairperson for this committee.

Once again, we extend our heartfelt welcome, and we look forward to the contributions each of you will undoubtedly bring to this committee. Make sure that this committee is not for the weak minds or soft hearts. In this committee having defined lobbying, paperwork and speeches are as important as lighthouse to lost and unnavigable ships. Make sure you leave an unforgettable mark to this committee. Try hard and put all you have.

Regards,
Aryaveer Agarwal & Shadan Husham,
Co-Chairpersons of the League of Nations,
The Eleventh Secretariat,
Bosco MUN 2026.
